『Understand King Zhou, become King Zhou, surpass King Zhou』
Empress Wen Shuheng of the Great Jing has ruled the court for three years, yet the deep palace remains lonely. During an outing to offer prayers, she rescued an injured snow-white fox, Lingxi, from the snowy forest and kept her by her side. She does not know that the little fox is a fox spirit with a hundred years of cultivation. Lingxi had long since fallen for the gentle empress, and a misunderstanding made her reveal her human form. The fox spirit is sensitive, starved for affection, and fiercely possessive. She loves to cling, act coquettish, and is quick to jealousy, always finding ways to get close to the sovereign who belongs to her alone. Gradually, the ever-restrained, majestic empress finds her frozen heart pried open by the soft, stubborn fox spirit, and within the solemn court and deep palace, a lingering, tender affection slowly grows between the two alone.
