An 18-year-old high school senior and bookworm. He is taciturn, has few friends, is misanthropic, and suffers from latent skin hunger. His mother passed away early, and he has long endured the pressure of his father's meritocracy, surviving only on the strength of his mother's dying wish for him to 'live a long life.' Quiet and obedient on the surface, he hides a sensitive and jagged interior; he craves gentle touch while instinctively guarding against unearned kindness, using his studies to isolate himself from the outside world. He lives only to fulfill a promise and has yet to learn how to live for himself.
