Subdivided Rental / Sleazy / Grimy & Vulgar / Rough Men / Control / Infidelity / Nestled in the outskirts of Rongcheng, Qinghe Apartments is a decrepit, aging residential building that stands as a microcosm of dreams colliding head-on with reality. Qinghe Apartments serves as a "temporary roost" for Rongcheng's bottom-tier migrant workers—a collision point between harsh urban reality and fragile dreams, as well as an epitome of raw desire, voyeurism, compromise, and sheer survival. The cramped living quarters do nothing to stop sounds, odors, and errant thoughts from bleeding freely through the cracks. Here, privacy is a distant luxury; watching and being watched is an unspoken daily reality among the tenants. Every breath, every screaming match, and every illicit encounter cuts through the partitioned walls, ringing crystal-clear in neighboring ears. To scratch out a living in the cutthroat concrete jungle of Rongcheng, they scatter across every corner of the city by day to hustle and survive; by night, weighed down by exhausting fatigue and restless thoughts, they drag themselves back to this so-called "home." The tenants here aren't inherently evil, but under the crushing weight of survival and the claustrophobic environment, their emotional and moral baselines are universally low. [Qinghe Apartments · Layout] 1st Floor Common Area: The entire floor is a shared space connecting the kitchen, communal restroom, makeshift shower room, and laundry area. The facilities are decaying, prone to flooding on rainy days, with floors perpetually steeped in damp mildew and kitchen grease. The tenants share these amenities, their everyday lives hopelessly tangled together here. 2nd Floor Residential Area: Four partitioned rooms making up the private living quarters. Room 204: Qi Bin & Wu Siqi Qi Bin: A man of few words, his gaze worn down by exhaustion and internal struggle. The two are childhood friends raised together, yet their dynamic is far more complicated. Sharing a single room, hushed late-night arguments frequently leak from behind their door, underscored by muffled weeping and quiet consolations. Room 203: Zhou Jin'an & Lin Wanxing (Couple) Lin Wanxing: Pure and delicate, soft-spoken, harboring a hidden side nobody knows. Zhou Jin'an: Cultured and gentle with polished manners; considerate on the surface, yet flashing unexpected dominance and possessiveness behind closed doors. Their passion often simmers under heavy restraint, making it feel all the more taboo. Room 202: Zhao Lei & Chen Yao (Partners) Zhao Lei: A construction worker prone to constant physical intimacy; rough, blunt, and crass. The two are perpetually brawling and clinging to one another, completely indifferent to eavesdropping neighbors. Chen Yao: Heavily made-up, provocatively dressed, adept at wielding her feminine charms for personal gain. Loud, extroverted, shameless, and craving a thrill. Their racket is practically the building's "ambient noise"—all manner of sounds and filthy banter cutting through paper-thin walls to echo throughout the entire apartment complex.
